My bother and I did Kilimanjaro – Marangu Route with Tanganyika Travels and we had a better experience than expected. Our guides were absolutely fantastic contributed the most in our successful attempt of reaching the summit. They ensured we were fit both physically and mentally and prepared us for the arduous and difficult assent to the summit.
They made sure we were comfortable during the night, well fed on hot meals/drinks and dressed appropriately.
The summit night was not easy, we left our camp after midnight and started for the summit. moving up required momentous strength, our legs were so heavy. However watching the sunrise from Uhuru Peak and knowing that we had conquered Kilimanjaro was enough!!! Those are wonderful memories that I will keep for a lifetime.
We just came back from an amazing 6 day safari with Tanganyika Travels. Our adventure started in Lake Manyara where we experienced a lot animals in relatively small area, like baboons, buffalo, giraffe , elephants, crown birds, hippos, flamingos, pelicans and lions.
We then went to Ngorongoro and descended to the floor and there were more animals but most special was watching the black rhino from close proximity.
Serengeti was my best park, so huge and yet full of different game. This is where Mushi showed his expertise in tracking animals for we could drive for half an hour without a single sighting and then like a magician he would present an amazing view of a pride of lions, giraffes fighting, hyenas on a carcass but most amazing was a group of wild-dogs.
It was a great safari and Tanganyika Travels are a great company
We did the 3 day Tanzania safari with Tanganyika Travels and we had an absolutely amazing time. We started our safari from Arusha where our driver picked us from out Air BnB residence and drove us to Tarangire National Park. The Park was very dry and dusty and the animals had congregated at the Tarangire river which made it very easy to see so many animals. Lake Manyara was also beautiful and had a wide variety of animals and water birds, There were huge troops of baboons and right from the gate to deep inside the park.
The last day took us to Ngorongoro Crater which must be the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen. So amazingly beautiful!!!
The crater floor has many animals and lakes and enjoying your picnic lunch as the elephants stroll not so far off is great.

We had a great time with the team from Tanganyika Travels during our 5 day safari in the Tanzania Parks. We started our correspondence with this company in April 2018 when we started planning for our safari to East Africa where we wanted to go with locally based operators. We exchanged multiple emails during the booking process and the information we got was pretty conclusive. They allowed us to make partial payments for our trip which made it easy.
The safari guide Kimoko is very skilled and with many years of experience guiding in Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. He skillfully drove us to the places where we could enjoy the animals, landscapes, waterbirds….. In the end we had so many fond memories of encounters with animals in the jungle.
We endorse this company for safaris fully without any caveats.
I am writing this review to offer our greatest gratitude to Tanganyika travels who organized our Northern Tanzania safari in March 2019. We exchanged a lot of emails during the booking process as this was our first time in Tanzania and we did not know much about the safari process. We got prompt responses to our questions and nice suggestions on the safari.
Upon our arrival we found William waiting for us at the airport and he took us to our hotel in Moshi. He also gave us a briefing of the safari going over our travel schedule, planned activities and times.
We found the safari very exciting and our guide Joseph very good. He had everything at his fingertips. He ensured that we saw so many animals more that we had expected and giving us detailed narrations about the parks.
We are very happy with the safari and we recommend this company fully!
I did Kilimanjaro with Tanganyika Travels with my new found friend Patrick who guided me to the summit of Kilimanjaro. He was fantastic in all ways and made sure that I was safe during the trek. He ensured that I had the right equipment and even made arrangements for me to get sunglasses, a sleeping bag and ice snow grips. The trek to the top is a serious undertaking and one has to be fit and healthy to make it to the top. I had regular health checks to monitor my oxygen levels. We used the Marangu Route for our Trek and there other climbers which made it quite exciting and helped to boost my spirits.
I will never forget that early morning when we got to the summit and the sun rising from the east. I could have wished to stay there for the whole day but we had to start our descent. Patrick took several good photos which I have framed and placed on my wall!!!

We did an eight day safari with Tanganyika Travels and it was one amazing experience from the time we arrived to the moment we left. We did the classic Tanzania safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti and I now understand why this route is a favourite for most travelers. The Parks are in a sequence where on park leads to the next and have sort of different habitats. Tarangire is kind of dry with lots baobab and elephants. Lake Manyara is green, has forest cover and a large portion is covered by the lake. Has very many different animals and birds. We also enjoyed Ngorongoro which is very beautiful. You descend to the floor along the forest and encounter many different animals. Serengeti was amazing too, an open grassland stretching for miles. We encountered large wildebeest herds, lots of hippos and crocodile in Seronera river.
I will give the whole trip a 10/10 rating because of the great guide that drove us well, knew about the animals, habitats and a wonderful person who takes pride in his job. We were hosted in great accommodations that served delicious food and wonderful service.

Our trip to Tanzania had been a long time in the making and we did not want to make any mistake so we contacted several other safari companies and William of Tanganyika Travels stood out because of his professionalism in the way he responded to our email and guided in making of our travel schedule, flexible payment plan and support in preparing for the safari.
We got Kimoko as our guide ans he was so professional, knowledgeable and friendly too. He ensured that we had a great experience in parks viewing countless animals and taking it all in.

During our 6 days Safari with Tanganyika Travels we visited Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti National park. Our guide Kimoko has been a guiding travelers in the parks for the last 10 years and this was evident as he is such an excellent tracker and knew where to find the animals and excellent knowledge about the parks and Tanzania in general. We chose midrange accommodations but we were excellently surprised by the level of luxury in Maramboi, Kitela and Kubu Kubu lodges.
In a nutshell we had a fabulous holiday with Tanganyika Travels and we absolutely recommend them to all those that are travelling to Tanzania.
My friends and I successfully reached the summit of Kilimanjaro this January. The Climb was organized and handled by Tanganyika Travels with Mushi as the lead guide assisted by his crew of porterss and Moses our Chef who prepared such delicious food up the mountain which is way better than what I had expected (canned food).
We took the Machame route as we wanted to enjoy the great scenery and views and we were advised that it had the most spectacular views which was true…….. I guess as I have not been on the other routes.
Mushi led the momentous climb with the seriousness of a surgeon and always wanted to know our condition. Advising us on how to make our steps, checking the oxygen levels and always so professional, however at dusk he would become a softer person and fill the camp with funny narrations about the mountain.
We got the summit and I am grateful to Tanganyika Travels for making it happen
